Jean FRANCE, sculptor (wood carver)

Over the years my approach move on: from an instinctive approach of wood, considering what it offer me for an expressionist execution, it goes to a funnier using of divers materials, to reconstruct a baroque heteroclite universe.
I am still looking for something, I think.

Véronique LANGE, painter

In a same time mystic and linked with the earth, she meets substances, willing to draw a harmony in three dimensions, including forces of the past and of the future. Her work is inspired by sacred art and art of the first masters, from the Lascaux’s and Hoggar’s caves…

   Schéhérazade

Her technique, on hard supports (wood, Plexiglas, “melamine”…), is a mix, based on the search of substances, colours, transparencies. It is an instinctive development changing over the course of techniques and meetings; but the main thread of it is always emotion.

Jean-Jacques LANTOURNE, painter

„On these spaces of light, he makes shapes and signs, seeming to cross time, pop up. Tensions and fluidity suggest more than they show, leaving it up to the spectator, according to his sensitivity, to travel a world where spirit moves the substance.” G.B.

  "Nature vive n° 6"                 Légende n° 5

First, I work the portrait and the nude. After a phase made of interrogations and maturation, I need to escape from the subject. Then I proceed to informal works.

Each one of them is an adventure for me, for I do not know in advance what will come up from them. I throwing the first brushstroke as you throw the dice, and then I balance the lines, masses and colours, whereas, in the background, I keep a theme: mainly Nature, or more precisely Spirit of Nature.

At an exhibition, some one told me: “your works are mysteries, and I find myself behind them”. It is one of the more beautiful compliments I ever had, for it really sums up my wish: let’s regain one’s “somewhere else”!

Bernard MERY, sculpteur

After a figurative period, and a phase of stylisation of the human figure, I am now looking for the evocation of a feeling, an emotion, an impression, using mere shapes, pure surfaces, all able to translate sensuality carried by sculpture.

   "Consolation"              "Tour de valse"

I began sculpture with modelling from living-model. Incidentally, I still practice this activity, as an exercise (they are my scales…) and as an endless inspiration source.

Then I felt the need to take a wider view of figurative, trying to style my sculptures (I have always been a fervent admirer of Henri Moore!). After a maturation phase, I focused on using of surfaces and lines as mere as possible, to translate my emotions.

At an exhibition, the gallery officer told me: “you filter out what is superfluous, you keep the essential”. I great deal appreciate this comment because it really describes my current approach.

J'ai commencé la sculpture par le modelage d'après modèle vivant. Je pratique d'ailleurs toujours cette activité, à la fois comme exercice (ce sont mes gammes...) et comme source inépuisable d'inspiration.

Hélène MERY, peintre

Hélène Méry practices wood painting in the context of her professional activities: trompe l’oeil, historical painting, false marble on pane, doors, walls, furniture…

Those techniques enable her to customize an interior decoration, to give volume to a small space, to open a room on a strange view.

In the same time, she humorously uses antique woods to give them a new life.

Moreover, she conducts decorative techniques workgroups – on demand.

Françoise  PRUVOST,
 engraver

Lithography and “linography” are two different technics belonging to the wide family of embossments.

Lithography consists in drawing on a well-polished stone, to prepare it from a nitric acid solution and gum Arabic, and to print it on paper – with any-coloured ink – thanks to a press.

“Linography” consists in engraving a linoleum plane thanks to little gouges, inking it and print it on paper.

Those tow techniques can be realised in several colours, overlaying each covering.

I print my own works taking inspiration from my trips.

I also organize lithography and linography block releases.
